The Timber Frame Home at Bald Hill

We are starting to raise the frame for an exciting new timber frame home project tomorrow in Tolland, CT. This timber frame home will feature an authentic post and beam barn garage with Eastern White Pine and an absolutely stunning great room built with Douglas Fir timbers shipped from Washington state. This home was designed by the architectural designers at Great Country Timber Frames, and also engineered in-house.

The entire frame was designed, cut, and finished at our Ellington, CT shop. By cutting the timber frame joinery with our CNC machine, extreme precision results, enabling the timbers to be tightly connected, forming an extra-strong frame. This home is a hybrid timber frame home, utilizing post and beam timber frame construction for the garage, great room, entryway, & portico, and conventional construction for the rest of the home, with timber frame components used in the entire home for a warm and rustic feel throughout.

Beginning tomorrow, we will start the raising. First up is the garage portion of the home. We will keep you updated with new pictures and video as the job progresses. It will be a breathtaking home, in design, precision engineering, and detail-oriented build. We can’t wait to see all our hard work in the design and manufacturing phases of the project start to come to life tomorrow!
