Located in Waitsfield, Vermont, we built this 40' x 100' timber frame wedding pavilion for Mad River Barn. With breathtaking queen post timber truss design, a variety of complex timber frame joinery, and visually interesting scarf joints with red oak wedges, this wedding pavilion provides a space worthy of life’s most important gatherings.
You’re invited! We’re hosting our third annual open house on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9am - 1pm. Tour our advanced manufacturing facility and watch us cut a timber frame Carriage Barn on our CNC machine.
Merry Christmas to you & yours from The Barn Yard & Great Country Timber Frames family.
This afternoon, we welcomed the family of Gunnery Sergeant Thomas J. Sullivan and the Mayor of Springfield, Domenic Sarno, to our manufacturing & design facility in Ellington, CT. Tommy gave his life while defending his country on Thursday July 16, 2015 during an attack on a Naval Reserve Center in Chattanooga, TN. The Skinner Family, owners of The Barn Yard & Great Country Timber Frames, have donated a timber frame pavilion to be built at Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Sullivan Park, a new park currently under construction in East Forest Park, Springfield, MA. Mayor Sarno and Tommy’s family were able to view the pavilion being manufactured on The Barn Yard & Great Country Timber Frame’s state of the art CNC machine.
We were honored to be featured in the spring/summer 2017 issue of Connecticut East magazine. Read the story here.

In the design side of our manufacturing & design facility in Ellington, CT, dreams begin to take shape. Our full-time architectural designers work hard drawing plans, producing 3D designs, and working with the structural engineers (also on staff) to create the data for the CNC machine and the blueprints for the crews.
This timber frame kit is the end result of all the hard work our dedicated employees put in throughout the process. From precision cutting to hand sanding, it's a one of a kind kit that is ready to be shipped and raised on site.
That smooth, velvet-like finish on our timber frames is the result of the hard work of our sanding crew, next in our behind-the-scenes tour.
